In the year 2000 we performed our first pediatric cardiovascular mission, through which we were able to care for 60-70 patients in dire need for surgical care. This was a very important step, since this number of patients was cared for during the course of one week, but the need of a constant, established service for our infant population persisted.
Currently we host six international aided surgical missions, caring for a wide diversity of complex pathologies. Between missions our local team performs three heart operations per week completely free of charge.
